KC Ellis, in a reversal of literary norms, writes under his own name and lives the rest of his life under a pseudonym. His formative years were spent under the influence of Monty Python, Not The Nine O'Clock News and The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, sharpening his wit among his siblings, most of whom are still willing to speak to him.

As one fourth of a formation luggage team he made Terry Pratchett laugh, and won a prize for it. Terry Pratchett's novels often make him laugh but, unfairly, Terry has never been given a prize for that.
